Spring 2026 Puppies Now Accepting Inquiries

We’re excited to announce a Spring 2026 litter from Flair (daughter of Nemes). Puppies will be ready for their new homes in time for summer training and fall hunting. This pairing brings together proven Hungarian lines, versatility, and health-tested excellence.

Our Breeding Philosophy

Our journey with the Wirehaired Vizsla began with a deep admiration for the breed’s intelligence, versatility, and soulful nature. We are committed to improving and preserving this remarkable breed through a selective, science-backed breeding program rooted in integrity and care.

Since the Wirehaired Vizsla’s recognition by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 2014, its popularity has grown—but so has the challenge of maintaining a high-quality breeding pool. We believe that responsible breeding means holding ourselves to the highest standards.

Health & Genetic Standards:

We go beyond the minimum recommended testing to ensure our dogs are healthy, sound, and genetically clear. Every breeding decision is made with long-term health and breed preservation in mind.

Health Testing:

Hips & Elbows: OFA “Good” or better, or equivalent PennHIP scores; normal elbows; foreign registry equivalents accepted

Eyes & Cardiac: Test normal within a year prior to breeding

Breed-Specific DNA Testing Includes:

Exercise-Induced Collapse (EIC)

Hyperuricosuria (HUU)

Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)

Exfoliative Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (ECLE)

Ideal Coat & Color:

We believe the Wirehaired Vizsla’s coat should be both functional and beautiful—protecting the dog in the field while reflecting breed standards.

Coat Characteristics:

Harsh, close-lying outer coat (~1 inch on neck/body; shorter on legs)

Dense, water-repellent undercoat

Minimal stripping required; shown in natural state

Color Preferences:

Russet gold, dark gold, or sandy gold

We avoid breeding dogs with soft/smooth coats or undesirable lightened shading

Facial Features & Tail:

Pronounced eyebrows, beard, and moustache (not overly bushy)

Tails left undocked, honoring Hungarian tradition

Coat DNA Testing:

Furnishings

Longhair-free status

Size & Structure:

We prioritize dogs with balanced, athletic builds that support working ability and longevity, favoring the median of the standard for optimal field performance.

A Philosophy in Action:

Our champion Flair embodies everything we stand for—exceptional health, ideal coat, sound structure, and a temperament that shines in both the field and the home. Every puppy we raise is a reflection of our values: thoughtful breeding, lifelong support, and a deep respect for the Wirehaired Vizsla legacy.

Let’s Connect:

We believe that choosing a breeder is about more than pedigrees and paperwork—it’s about trust, shared values, and a lifelong relationship. If our philosophy resonates with you and you’re interested in learning more about our dogs or upcoming litters, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you're looking for a devoted companion, a capable field partner, or a show prospect, we’re here to help guide you.
